Plum Creek-Growing Value From Exceptional Resources

This Week In The Woods is the "positive voice" for forestry in Upper Michigan.

Each week a key person in Michigan forestry is featured during a twenty-minute interview. The interview is followed by a three-minute segment of forestry news. We wrap up the program with a two-minute "commentary" about an important forestry issue.

"This Week In The Woods" has won seven major state-wide awards from :

Michigan Association of Timbermen

Society of American Foresters

Menominee Farm Bureau

Michigan Farm Bureau

Michigan Forest Resource Alliance

Michigan State Co-operative Extension

Michigan Department of Natural Resources

The host of the program is Rick Duerson. A broadcaster for over 30 years, Rick has been the VP/GM of Radio Results Network for 26 years and has served in the same position for Radio Results Network since it was founded in 1991. Rick is a registered tree farmer, a graduated of the Logger Education to Advance Professionalism (L.E.A.P.) program, the Master Woodland Manager program and the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) courses. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Rick reports the news of the forest from the perspective of someone who sees it as a sustainable resource to be enjoyed in a variety of ways.

The program can be heard every Wednesday morning at 11:00 on WCHT-AM and every Saturday morning at 7:30 on WCMM-FM.
